Spinning är en träningsform för grupper där träningsredskapet är varsin motionscykel. Det går ut på att cykla till musik i ett tempo och ställning som träningsledaren, som själv cyklar i motstående riktning mittemot övriga träningsdeltagarna, bestämmer. Hur mycket motstånd man vill ha kan man dock ställa in själv genom att vrida på ett handtag på ramen. Desto lägre man har styret, desto jobbigare blir det.

Träningsledarens viktigaste uppgift är att peppa deltagarna till att kämpa, vilket brukar innebära många “Kom igen nu! Ni orkar mer!”. Spinning är en väldigt effektiv träningsform som kräver mycket energi. Således inget för de som varit förkylda eller som vill ha rehabilitering.

I Spinning finns tre olika ställningar som träningsledaren säger åt deltagarna att byta mellan då och då:

  • Sittandes (det mjukaste alternativet)
  • Stående framåtlutad med stadigt tag om styret (det något hårdare alternativet)
  • Stående med rak rygg och endast använda styret för balans (det riktigt jobbiga alternativet)

De flesta gym har spinning-pass för sina medlemmar och på många ställen är det även gratis för de som har gymkort.

Spinning

Jag rekommenderar spinning till de som vill köra ett riktigt hårt motionspass. För det är precis vad det är, otroligt hårt och väldigt bra för motionen. Det finns 20, 30, 40 och 60 minuterspass och om det är första gången rekommenderas ett något kortare pass. Spinning är riktigt jobbigt, hur bra kondis man än har.

Ett tips är att planera in ett spinning-pass i veckan. Det brukar vara rätt lagom för de flesta och då ger det verkligen resultat. Själv har jag i perioder kört ett spinning-pass i veckan tidigt på morgonen, vilket fungerade rätt bra för mig trots morgontröttheten.

Note: Cycling är i princip samma sak som spinning. Spinning är ett varumärke och ett koncept där träningsledarna behöver gå en speciell utbildning, medan cycling är en avgrening och motkoncept som inte är lika kommersialiserat.
